Skadi Nordic Custom ski pole making MACHINE!

We’ve been busy getting ready for the next season… our season started well in advance of the May 1st start to the training season! We’ve been working on the 2012-2013 products since January. The big addition to the product line up this year will be aviation grade carbon fiber ski poles. Lighter and stronger than anything currently available.

In order to make these poles to Skadi Nordic’s exacting standards we designed and built our own ski pole making machine. Complete with custom engraving to put icing on the cake! While our exact techniques and equipment are highly proprietary, I will be sharing some of the process via photos, blog & videos.

Skadi Nordic is very proud of Karsten, he works hard all year, trains for skiing in the off season, has the mentality of a ski racer. It’s good to see that commitment result in a national title for him.

On the Skadi side of things, Skadi Nordic is particularly excited about this race because this was the very first race that Skadi Nordic poles have ever been used. A historic moment for Skadi Nordic! Karsten raced on the Dream Pro poles, weighing in at a mere 46 g/m, these poles are by far the lightest on the market. I believe that the first race for Skadi Nordic poles ended with them on the top step of the podium is a very good omen.

Skadi Poles should be available for retail purchase Fall 2012.

1st Place Skadi Scraper Medal

The Vermont State High School Nordic Ski Championships 2012 had one of a kind Skadi Scraper Medals for their event! They had a beautiful watercolor painting as the background and each scraper specified the Division, technique, event and place for the recipient and was set off with a ribbon for the medal ceremony! Scraper Medals went 10 places deep for individuals and 3 places deep for relays… That’s a lot of scrapers!

Skadi Nordic poles are a wrapped carbon fiber pole. This makes them stronger & lighter than ANY composite counterpart.

Don’t believe me? Try them and test them out against your current pole. Several retailers will have them in stock next week and many more will have them available for purchase fall 2012.

All Skadi Nordic poles will come with either a 1 or 5 year warranty against breakage due to any cause.
